Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Students

Scholarship Details

The scholarship is for those who are domiciles of Assam and belongs to SC community. The aim of this scholarship is to help the economically weaker sections by providing financial support to reduce the incidences of drop-outs and encourages to complete higher education.

Award

FOR OBC Students:-

• Charges for study tours up to a maximum of INR 900 per annum
• Thesis typing and printing charges up to INR 1,000 for the research scholars
• Additional allowances to blind scholars in the form of 'Readers Charges' up to INR 175 per month
• Maintenance allowance:
  • Group A- INR 750 per month (hostellers) and INR 350 per month (day scholars)
  • Group B- INR 510 per month (hostellers) and INR 335 per month (day scholars)
  • Group C- INR 400 per month (hostellers) and INR 210 per month (day scholars)
  • Group D- INR 260 per month (hostellers) and INR 160 per month (day scholars)

FOR SC/ST Students:-

• Admission and Tuition Charges for Technical and Vocational Programs Of 11th and 12th class: 10,000 Rupees per year (for both hostellers and day scholars)
• Admission and Tuition Fee for XI & XII Standard: Rupees 7000 per year (for both hostellers and day scholars)
• Maintenance Allowance for Ten Months in an Academic Year for 11th and 12th Including Technical & Vocational Courses:
  • Day Scholar-  Rs. 230 per month
  • Hosteller - Rs. 380 per month
• Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs Admission and Tuition Fee: Rupees 3000 per year (for both hostellers and day scholars)
• For Undergraduate and Postgraduate 10 Months Maintenance Allowance in an Academic Session for Courses Other Than Technical and Professional programs:
  • Day Scholar-  Rs. 300 per month 
  • Hosteller  - Rs. 570 per month
• 10 Months Maintenance Allowance in an Academic Year For M.Phil. And Ph.D. Courses:
  • Day Scholar-  Rs. 550 per month and
  • Hosteller  - Rs. 1200 per month

Eligibility

For OBC Category Candidates:

• Applicant must be a domicile of Assam
• Applicant must belong to OBC community
• Applicant must be a regular, full-time student studying in Class 11 or above (pursuing recognized post-matric and post-secondary courses)
• Applicant must have passed matriculation or higher secondary examination from a recognized university or board
• Annual family income of the applicant's family must not exceed INR 1.5 lakh from all sources

For SC Category Candidates:

• Students must hold the domicile of Assam state and belongs to SC community.
• Applicants who are applying for this scholarship must not hold any other scholarship provided by the government of Assam.
• Candidate must belong to scheduled caste category of the state.
• Annual income of student’s family must be lesser than 2.5 lakh.

For ST Category Candidates:

• Students must hold the domicile of Assam state and belongs to ST community.
• Candidate must be studying in 11 standard or higher (12th class, graduation, post graduation, Ph.D., etc. programs).
• Students must not avail any other scholarship or scheme.
• Annual income of student’s family must be lesser than 2 lakh.

• Step 1: Visit the official website.
• Step 2: Go to the New registration option.
• Step 3: Enter the required details in the registration application.
• Step 4: Complete the registration by verifying the number and email ID by enter the OTP.
• Step 5: Now go to the apply link of the scholarship you wish to apply for and click on it.
• Step 6: Fill the application form and Upload the documents as prescribed.
• Step 7:  Submit the form and take print out.
