Scholarship Details

The Government of Commonwealth countries has launched a new scholarship known as Commonwealth Scholarship India for those talented students who want to continue their further studies in the abroad universities like Singapore New Zealand and the United Kingdom but due to their weak financial conditions they are not able to continue their dream. Under this scheme, the opportunity will be provided to students who are meritorious and deserving. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to students so that they would be able to continue their education without thinking about any financial hurdles.

There are several types of scholarships that are provided by Commonwealth Scholarship India. Such scholarships are mentioned below -

  • Commonwealth Ph.D. scholarship (for least developed countries and states)
  • Masters scholarship
  • Commonwealth split-site scholarships ( for low and middle-income countries)
  • Distance learning Commonwealth Scholarship
  • Commonwealth shared scholarships
  • Ph.D. scholarships (for high-income countries)
  • Commonwealth medical fellowships
  • Commonwealth Rutherford fellowships
  • Professional Fellowship

Award
  • The student will get a monthly stipend of SGD 1500.
  • The Ph.D. candidate will get a monthly stipend of SGD 2000.
  • The tuition fees will be provided to the student under the University.
  • Students who have qualified for the Ph.D. qualifying exam then he/she may get an additional stipend of SGD 500 per month.
  • This scholarship is available only for 1 year. 2 years will be given at the time of a master's and four years will be given at the time of Ph.D.
Eligibility

United Kingdom

For Master's degree:

  • An applicant must be a citizen of any Commonwealth country or must be a permanent resident of a Commonwealth country.
  • The age of the Candidate should be below 40 years.
  • The candidate must have applied for a master’s degree at any university.
  • The candidates must have a minimum qualification of a bachelor's degree.
  • The percentage of the candidates should be 60% to 65%.

For Ph.D.:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of any Commonwealth country.
  • The candidate must refer to study in the United Kingdom.
  • The candidate must have a master's degree or final year of the program.
  • An applicant must have applied for the Ph.D. level program or M.phill degree.
  • The age of the candidate should be below 40 years.
  • The minimum percentage should be 60% to 65%.

Singapore

  • Candidates belonging to any Commonwealth country can apply under this scheme.
  • The Singapore citizens and permanent residents of Singapore cannot avail of the benefit.
  • He/ She must have obtained an undergraduate degree with at least second-class honors.
  • The applicant must have pursued a full-time graduate research programme at the National University of Singapore.
Documents Needed
  • Citizen proof of the candidate.
  • Transcript of educational details.
  • Reference from at least two members.
  • Supporting a statement from the supervisor in the UK or Singapore.

  • On the homepage, click on Apply option.
  • A new web page will appear where you have to make the selection of Country.
  • The registration form will appear in front of you.
  • Enter all the details that are asked in the form.
  • After that attach all your important documents.
  • Now click on Submit option.
