IIT Dhanbad Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF)

Scholarship Details

IIT Dhanbad Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) 2022 is a research opportunity offered by the Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad to Ph.D. degree holders. The candidate's services will be utilized by the Department for teaching and research assistance in the departmental work including teaching, evaluation, handling tutorials, laboratory classes, and research project execution. The selected candidate will receive up to INR 63,000 and other benefits.

Award

The selected candidates will receive an amount per month in the following way:

• First year - INR 60,000
• Second year - INR 60,000 plus 5% increment
• Third year - INR 63,000 plus 5% increment

Other Benefits:

• A contingency grant of INR 75,000 ( Note - PDFs will be allowed to attend Conferences subject to the availability of funds in their contingency grant).
• Medical benefits - PDF and their legal dependents will be provided free OPD facilities and medicine available in the Health Centre. Indoor hospitalization facilities will also be provided in the Health Centre, if necessary. However, reimbursement facilities will not be provided to PDFs and their legal dependents.
• 30 days leave with fellowship will be provided per year. The leave can be availed on a pro-rata basis of the fellowship completed.
• A PDF will be granted maternity/paternity leave for a period as per government policy. Leave of up to 6 weeks can also be granted for miscarriage including medical termination of pregnancy if supported by a proper medical certificate. Such leave can be combined with any other leave due and will not entail any loss of financial assistantship.

Eligibility

• An applicant must be a maximum of 35 years (to be relaxed as per Government of India guidelines).
• An applicant must be a Ph.D. holder (within 5 years of completion of Ph.D.) with at least two papers (as first or corresponding author) in Journals of repute or SCI/SCIE.

[Note - Ph.D. holders of IIT (ISM) will not be eligible to apply for a period of two years from the date of award of Ph.D.]

Documents Needed

• Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).
• Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• A merged-PDF file of the two best full papers.
• Research Proposal in Microsoft word file (1,000 words limit).
• List of publications (Name of the Authors as appeared in the original manuscript, Title of the Paper, Vol., Year of Publication, Name of the Journal, Name of publishers, Indexed in, Impact factor if any).

[Note: Proposals submitted need to be original and plagiarism in any form will not be acceptable]
