Scholarship Details

Under this scheme students of the Lakshadweep union territory will be benefited. Students who are not financially able to pursue their education, The government will provide monetary help to the students. With the help of this scheme beneficiaries will get monthly scholarships to bear the academic expenses.

Award
  • Pre-degree course, post metric certificate course, post-matric diploma course, degree course in Arts, Science, Commerce, B.Ed., LLB, etc. - (Scholarship grant-1800) (Lumpsum grant- 1500).
  • Postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law Etc. - (Scholarship grant-2100) (Lumpsum grant- 1800).
  • MBBS, BDS, Engineering degree, MBA, B.V.Sc., B.Sc., Agriculture, etc. - (Scholarship grant-2100) (Lumpsum grant- 3600).
  • Postgraduate course in medicine, engineering, veterinary science, agriculture, etc., and research study like Ph.D. - (Scholarship grant-3000)(Lumpsum grant- 9000).
  • Students studying in mainland for high school course will get Rs.1200/- per month.
  • Students studying in mainland for primary school course will get Rs. 600/- per month.
  • Students studying in island institute will get-
    • Secondary school course (VIII to X)- Rs. 200
    • PDC-Rs. 450
    • Student of Bitra Island- Rs. 450
    • Student of JN College staying outside the hostel- Rs. 750
    • Student studying in high school staying outside the hostel- Rs. 600
    • money for petty expenses- Rs.50
    • Daily allowance- Rs. 50
Eligibility
  • Students must be resident of Lakshadweep.
  • Students must be studying in Class 11 to PhD level.
  • Students belongs to a family where annual family income should have less than INR 2 lakh.
  • Students must have passed higher secondary or any higher examination from a recognised University.
Documents Needed
  • Domicile certificate of the student.
  • A passport size photograph of the student.
  • Applicant must have caste certificate duly signed by an authorised Revenue Officer.
  • Income certificate of the parents/guardians.

How To Apply
  • Step 1: Visit the homepage of the National Scholarship Portal and click on 'New Registration'.
  • Step 2: A new page will open along with the detailed instructions
  • Step 3: Read carefully, if you agree with all the terms
  • Step 4: Collect all the required documents
  • Step 5: Tick the checkbox of Undertaking By Applicant or Parents/Guardian (In Case of Minor)
  • Step 6: Select continue button and enter the following details in the registration form
  • Step 7: Press register button and verification page will open
  • Step 8: Verify your phone number and email by entering the OTP you received.
  • Step 9: Login the portal if already registered by enter Application ID, Password and Captcha
  • Step 10: Choose apply link given in front of the Scholarship you desire to apply
  • Step 11: Fill the rest details in the form and upload the documents as listed
  • Step 12: Review the form once, submit it by clicking the submit button and take print at last for further use.
