Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme (CSS)

Scholarship Details

The scholarship provides financial assistance and support to the parents of SC/ST/OBC children for education of their wards studying in class 1st to 10th. So that the incidence of drop-out, especially in the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage is minimized. Scholarship under the Scheme will be available for studies in India only.

Award

For SC category students:

• Day Scholars - Rs.225/- p.m. (for 10 Months)
• Hostellers - Rs.525/- p.m. (for 10 Months)
• Books & Ad-Hoc Grant - Rs.750/- p.a. (Day Scholars) & Rs.1000/- p.a.(Hostellers)

For ST category students:

• Day Scholars - Rs.150/- p.m. (for 10 Months)
• Hostellers - Rs.350/-p.m. (for 10 Months)
• Books & Ad-Hoc Grant - Rs.750/- p.a. (Day Scholars) & Rs.1000/- p.a.(Hostellers)

For OBC category students:

• Day Scholars (1st to 10th): Rs.100/- per month (for 10 months)
• Hostellers (3rd to 10th): Rs.500/- per month (for 10 months)
• Ad-Hoc Grant for both Hostellers & Day Scholars: Rs.500/- per annum 

Eligibility

• Applicant must be an Indian citizen with a domicile of Himachal Pradesh.
• Applicant must belong to SC/ST/OBC category.
• Applicant must be studying in Class 1st to class 10th.
• Annual family income of the applicant's family should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh for SC and OBC students.
• Annual family income of the applicant's family should not exceed INR 2 lakh for ST students.

Documents Needed

• Aadhaar Card (UID / EID No)
• Passport Size Photo
• Himachali Bonafide Certificate
• Previous year mark sheet
• Latest Bank Statement of the Students Bank Account
• Caste Certificate (Issued by an officer not below the rank of Tehsildar)
• Income Certificate (Issued by an officer not below the rank of Tehsildar)

How To Apply

• Step 1: Visit the official website of NSP
• Step 2: Go to the New registration option
• Step 3: Enter the required details in the registration application
• Step 4: Complete the registration by verifying the number and email ID by enter the OTP
• Step 5: Now go to the apply link of the scholarship you wish to apply for and click on it
• Step 6: Fill the application form and Upload the documents as prescribed
• Step 7: Submit the form and take print out
