The scheme is an initiative by the Ministry of Minority Affairs of India to provide financial support to meritorious girls belonging to the minority communities like Muslims, Christianity, Jains, Buddhists, and Parsis. The scheme was launched on the occasion of the 100th birthday of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad.
Minority girl students applying for the scheme must have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate in the secondary school certificate examination conducted by a recognized board. However, this is only a qualifying score and does not guarantee the scholarship reward.
While applying for the scholarship, it is mandatory to have the below-mentioned documents specified by the Maulana Azad Scholarship Scheme for Girls: Income verification certificate issued by the government. Admission slip confirming admission in Class 11th.
Students must be a permanent resident of India. Students should belong to minority communities such as: Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains. Applicants who enroll under class 9th to 12th standard will be eligible for the scholarship. Students must score 50% or above marks in their academics.
