National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities

Scholarship Details

This fellowship programme is open for students with disabilities are pursuing M.Phil./Ph.D. degree in a University or academic institution. The scholarship scheme aims to enable meritorious but disabled students to effectively take advantage of various opportunities at the national and international levels.

Award

• Fellowship- INR 31,000 per month for initial two years as JRF and INR 35,000 per month for remaining tenure as SRF
• Contingency (For Humanities Social Sciences including Arts/Fine Arts)-INR 10,000 for JRF and INR 20,000 for SRF
• Contingency (For Science, Engineering Technology)- INR 12,000 for JRF and INR 25,000 for SRF
• Escorts/Reader Assistance- INR 2,000 per month
• HRA- As per government norms

Eligibility

• Any student who taken admission in M.Phil./Ph.D. degree course and pursuing research through regular and full time mode in a University or academic institution is eligible
• Applicant with disability is eligible to get this fellowship only
• Applicant must not getting any other benefits from Central or State Government or other bodies like UGC for pursuing M.Phil./Ph.D.

• Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) issued by competent authority viz. Tehsildar/SDM etc.

• For application, open the official website of the University Grant Commission.
• From home page go to the Scholarship/Fellowships column hit view all option.
• Look for “National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities” link and hit see detailed info option.
• Read the detailed information available in notification.
• Now hit the Apply for Fresh Registration option and registration form will open on the screen.
• Read the instructions appears on the screen very carefully.
• Enter the details as asked on the screen and captcha code.
• Click “Register” option and complete the process.
• Provide the rest information in the form.
• Upload the significant documents and submit it.
• Must take hard copy of application for future use.
