Scholarship Details

NEC Merit Scholarship, Tripura is a scheme which is offered by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Tripura. The aim of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the students of the North Eastern Region undergoing higher studies. The scheme is basically for professional /technical/management/M.Phil courses. The selected students under NEC Scholarship will receive a good stipend yearly.

Award

• The students who are pursuing diploma level course will receive INR 20,000 per annum.
• The students who are pursuing degree level course will receive INR 22,000 per annum.
• The students who are pursuing PG course will receive INR 25,000 per annum.
• The students who are pursuing M.Phil/Ph.D. will receive INR 30,000 per annum.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Tripura.
• The applicant must have scored minimum marks of 60% (SC/ST candidates).
• The family income of a candidate should not exceed 4.5 lakh P/A from all the sources.
• If the applicant getting any other scholarship is not eligible for the scholarship.

Documents Needed

• Permanent residence certificate of the applicant.
• Recommendation by the Head of Institution.
• The applicant must have proof for not availing any other scholarship.
• Marksheets of the qualifying examination.
• Category certificate of the applicant (if applicable).
• Copy of Aadhaar Card/first page of bank passbook/PAN card/Email id/Ration Card/Birth Certificate etc.

How To Apply

• Step 1: Visit the homepage of the National Scholarship Portal and click on 'New Registration'.
• Step 2: Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking and 'Continue'.
• Step 3: Select the state of domicile, scholarship category (Post Matric), scheme type (scholarship scheme), gender, write the applicant's name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID.
• Step 4: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number).
• Step 5: Select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification detail and click on the 'Register' button.
• Step 6: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
• Step 7: Now, log in using OTP and fill the form.
• Step 8: An application ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.
