Scholarship Details
New India Foundation offers a fellowship for scholars and writers every year. The objective of this fellowship is to support the research on the history of independent India. Selected applicants under this fellowship get a stipend of INR 1.5 lakh per month for a year. All the students to whom this fellowship will be given are expected to write original books by them. Through this proposed work will contribute to present a full understanding of independent India.
Award
- INR 1 lakh will be payable as a monthly stipend for a period of 12 months.
- INR 6 lakhs will be payable upon the submission of the final manuscript by the fellow to the publisher.
Eligibility
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must be a writer or scholar.
- Indian citizens residing outside India can also apply.
- The candidate must be working on different aspects of independent Indian history.
- Past fellows of the New India Foundation are also eligible under the scheme.
Documents Needed
The applicants must submit the following documents while applying for this Fellowship:
- CV
- Writing samples (in less than 5,000 words)
- A book Proposal (in less than 5,000 words)
