Post Matric Scholarship for Transgender Students

Scholarship Details

This scholarship aims to provide financial help to transgender students to enable them for completing their education at post matric level, i.e. class 11 to Ph.D. The students will receive a monthly stipend with other allowances.

Award

• Maintenance allowances: Day Scholars will get INR 500 and for Hostellers the award amount is INR 1,200
• Reimbursement of non-refundable fees: The students will be paid enrollment, tuition, games, union library and magazine fees, etc.

Eligibility

• The candidate must be a permanent resident of Chandigarh.
• The candidate must belong to the Transgender category.
• The candidate must have passed the higher secondary/matriculation examination from a recognized university or Board of Secondary Education.
• The candidate must be pursuing a post-secondary or post-matriculation course from a recognized institution except for training courses.
• The candidate must have parents'/guardians' annual income less than INR 2.5 lakhs from all sources.
• The candidate must not be availing any other scholarship.

The following are also eligible for the scholarship -

• All children of the same parents/guardian
• Students studying through correspondence courses
• Employed students on leave without pay for the entire duration of a full-time course

[Note: Students who have received coaching in any of the pre-examination training centers with financial assistance from the Government will not be eligible.]

Documents Needed

• Copy of Aadhaar card/Aadhar Enrolment slip
• Copy of residential proof
• Annual fee details verified by Institute
• Last qualifying mark sheet/certificate
• Copy of bank account in the name of student linked with Aadhaar
• Proof of annual income of parents'/guardians'
• Self-declaration from the transgender students

How To Apply

• Step 1: Visit the official website of NSP
• Step 2: Go to the New registration option
• Step 3: Enter the required details in the registration application
• Step 4: Complete the registration by verifying the number and email ID by enter the OTP
• Step 5: Now go to the apply link of the scholarship you wish to apply for and click on it
• Step 6: Fill the application form and Upload the documents as prescribed
• Step 7: Submit the form and take print out for further use
