Scholarship Details

Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2023 is an initiative by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India for Indian children below 18 years of age. The awards will be given to children for their merit in innovation, scholastic, sports, arts, culture, social service, music, or any other field which deserves recognition. Any child with exceptional achievement in the fields of innovation, scholastic achievements, social service, arts & culture, sports, and bravery can apply for the award. Also, any person who knows about a meritorious achievement by a child can recommend this child for the award. A high-level committee selects the winners after careful consideration of each application.

Award

• Bal Shakti Puraskar -  Each awardee will be given a medal and a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, book vouchers worth INR 10,000, a certificate and a citation.
• Bal Kalyan Puraskar - A medal, a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, a citation, and a certificate for each awardee.

Eligibility

Bal Shakti Puraskar - 

• An applicant must be an Indian citizen.
• An applicant must be above 5 years of age and not exceeding 18 years of age (as of 31st August of the respective year).
• An applicant must have excellence in Innovation/Social Service/Scholastic/Sports/Arts and culture (Note - Achievements that benefit society will be encouraged). 

Bal Kalyan Puraskar - 

• An applicant must be an Indian Citizen and reside in India.
• An applicant must have attained the age of 18 years or above (as of 31st August of the respective year).
• An applicant must have made an outstanding contribution in any of the following fields:
  • Child Welfare
  • Child Protection
  • Child Development
• Have worked for the cause of children for not less than 7 years.

Documents Needed

• Birth certificate of the applicant.
• Identity proof.
• Residential proof.
• Other relevant documents.
