Centrally Sponsored Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme

Scholarship Details

The scholarship is applicable for candidates who are domiciles of Andaman and Nicobar and belongs to a ST or OBC community. Students must be studying at Class 1 to 10th. The scholarship aims to improve the participation of ST and OBC children in pre-matric level, so that they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the post-matric stage of education.

Award

For OBC candidates:

• Hostellers of Class 3 to 10 will get INR 500 per month for 10 months.
• Day-Scholars of Class 1 to 10 will get INR 100 per month for 10 months.
• An ad-hoc grant of INR 500 per student per annum will be given to both hostellers and day-scholars.

For ST candidates:

• Scholarship of INR 150 per month for day scholars and INR 350 per month for Hosteller.
• Books and Ad hoc grant of INR 750 per annum for day scholars and INR 1,000 per annum for hostellers.
• Additional allowances for students with disabilities up to INR 240 per month.

Eligibility

An applicant must -

• Be a domicile of Andaman and Nicobar.
• Belongs to Other Backward Classes (OBC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST) community.
• Be studying in Class 1st to class 10th.
• Have an annual family income not exceeding INR 2.5 lakh from all sources (OBC).
• Have an annual family income of less than INR 2.00 lakh (ST).

[NOTE: The applicant must not be getting any other centrally-funded Pre Matric Scholarship]

Documents Needed

• Domicile certificate.
• A passport size photograph.
• Self-attested copies of certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.
• Caste certificate duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• Income declaration certificate from the parents/guardians.

• Step 1: Visit the official website of NSP
• Step 2: Go to the New registration option
• Step 3: Enter the required details in the registration application
• Step 4: Complete the registration by verifying the number and email ID by enter the OTP
• Step 5: Now go to the apply link of the scholarship you wish to apply for and click on it
• Step 6: Fill the application form and Upload the documents as prescribed
• Step 7: Submit the form and take print out for further use
