Scholarship Details

The “PM-YASASVI: Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC and DNT Students” is a sub-scheme under the umbrella scheme namely “PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India for OBCs and Others (PM –YASASVI)”. This scheme is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme which was launched by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India to provide educational assistance to the students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Economically Backward Classes (EBCs), and Denotified, Nomadic Tribes (DNT).

Award
Pre-Matric Scholarshipaward will be sanctioned to those OBC candidates whose parents'/guardians' income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 44500/- p.a. Post-Matric Scholarshipaward will be sanctioned to those OBC candidates whose parents'/guardians' income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1 lakh p.a.
Eligibility
  • The scholarships are open to Nationals of India only.
  • Scholarship award will be sanctioned in the case of students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed ₹2,50,000/- per annum.
  • The students should be studying in Class IX and X on a full-time basis in Government Schools only.
  • They should belong to either of the OBC, EBC, or DNT (who are not covered under SC, ST, or OBC) categories through a valid certificate.
  • A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other educational scholarship for the purpose of studying in Class IX and X. If awarded any other educational scholarship for studying in classes IX and X, the students can avail of either of the two scholarships as per his/her choice and should inform the awarding authority to the Head of the Institution about the option made.
  • Income Certificate is required to be taken once only, i.e. at the time of admission to courses.

    How To Apply
    • The scheme will be announced by the concerned State Government/UT Administration well in time, by giving advertisements in the leading language newspapers, local dailies, and through their respective websites/ Scholarship portals and other modes of media.
    • All applications shall be submitted on the online portal along with the required certificates. There shall be no paper applications
    • The applicant can apply through the specified online portal of the State/UT and National Scholarship Portal.

    Online submission for the scholarship can be done through the website of the National Scholarship Portal with the required documents: https://scholarships.gov.in/
    Registration for New Applicant:
    Step 01: Open the official NSP website and click on 'New Registration' under Applicant Corner.
    Step 02: Read the Instruction /Guidelines, provide the undertaking by clicking on the Check box then click on Continue.
    Step 03: Start the registration by providing the required details.
