Scholarship Details

Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC,OBC Students, is managed by the Government of Punjab and provided by SC/BC Welfare Department. Main initiative to provide financial assistance to the SC,OBC students from Punjab. The students who are studying in pre-matric level are eligible for this scholarship. The selected scholar will be awarded variable benefits.

Award

For SC Students:

  • The students who are staying in hostels will receive INR 350 (per month).
  • Day schooler students will have 150 (per month).
  • The students studying in day schools will have Rs. 750 (per annum) as book allowance  
    and Rs. 1000 (per annum) for hostelers.
  • For students with disabilities, an extra scholarship amount shall be provided.

For OBC Students:

  • Classes I to V - Rs.25/- per months for 10 months
  • Classes VI to VIII - Rs.40/- per month for 10 months
  • Classes IX to X - Rs.50/- per month for 10 months
  • Additional grant (ad-hoc grant) - Rs 500 per annum per candidate 
Eligibility

For SC Students:

  • The student must belong to the scheduled caste community
  • The applicant must be a domicile of Punjab
  • Applicant who are studying at the Pre-matriculation level (class 9 or 10) can apply for this scholarship
  • The annual salary of the family should not be more than Rs. 2.5 Lakhs for SC Students
  • The applicant has to score at least 50% in the previous exam
  • The student must not be receiving any central government-funded scholarships

For OBC Students:

  • The applicant must be an Indian citizen
  • The applicant must be domicile of Punjab
  • Students studying at the Pre-matriculation level can apply for this scholarship
  • The student must Belong to Other Backward Classes
  • The annual salary of the family should not be more than INR 2,50,000 per annum
  • The applicant has to score at least 50% in the previous exam

  • Applicant Caste Certificate
  • Domicile Certificate Of Punjab
  • All Related Mark Sheets of the student
  • Admission Papers of Courses
  • Aadhaar Card of the candidate
  • Bank Details of the applicant
  • Recent passport size photos of the student
  • Attested family income certificate of the student
  • Address proof of the student’s parents or guardians
  • Attested student’s mark sheet of the final exams with the minimum pass percentage of 50%
