Raman Research Fellowship

Scholarship Details

This fellowship program has been started to provide financial support to the CSIR researchers to carry out research in emerging high priority technology areas. The fellowship gives the research people an opportunity for carrying out research in the fields of emerging/high priority technology at renowned foreign institutions/R&D Centers of Excellence to enhance their R&D capability/skills.

Award

• Fellowship amounted to USD 2,500 per month will be given to the selected candidates.
• International airfare to & fro by cheapest Economy class.
• Contingency and preparatory expenses of USD 1,000 lump sum.
• Supplementary grant of USD 1,000 for participation in conferences/ visiting institutions of excellence in the country of placement.

Eligibility

• The age of the applicant should not be more than 45 years as of 30th June 2022.
• The applicant should be a scientist of the Council of Science and Industrial Research.
• Applicant must possess a post-graduation degree in engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Natural Science.
• Applicant must have completed a minimum of 5 years of service in CSIR on the last date of receipt of the application.
• Applicants must have made a commendable contribution to research/innovation in the proposed area, which should be of an international level.

Documents Needed

• Acceptance letter of the host institute.
• A copy of the detailed description of the research work to be carried out abroad.
• A write-up of one page describing the novelty of the research topic.
• List of publications including both national and international.
• List of Books and Patents (if any).

• To apply, download the application form from the official portal of the Council of Science and Industrial Research.
• From the home page of the portal, go to the career and opportunities / achievements option.
• A new page will open on the screen, select result-application / award link.
• A further page will open from where select applications for awards and fellowships.
• A list of Fellowship programs will appear on the computer screen, choose the Raman research fellowship related link from there.
• Download the application form format attached with the PDF file.
• Fill out the application form with utmost care and attach the necessary documents.
• Submit the application form via email to kamlesh@csir.res.in
