Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children – Post Matric Scholarship

Scholarship Details

The scholarship is applicable for candidates who are the domiciles of Meghalaya and belongs to ST category. Monetary benefits will be given to students studying in class 11th to above. Students fulfilling the eligibility criteria will receive financial support for pursuing their higher education.

Award

• Maintenance allowance -Up to INR 1,200 per month for hosteller and INR 550 per month for day scholars
• Provision for the student with disabilities - Up to INR 240 per month
• Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees,
• Study Tour charges - INR 1,600 per annum
• Typing/Printing of thesis and Book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses, for the complete duration of the course -INR 1,200 per annum

Eligibility

• An applicant must be a domicile of Meghalaya
• Applicant must be studying at the post-matric level (Class 11 and above)
• Applicant must belong to ST community
• Applicant annual family income should not exceed INR 2 lakh

Documents Needed

• Copy of application
• Copy of passport size photograph
• One attested copy of certificates, diploma, degree etc.
• A certificate (in original) of Caste duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar
• An income declaration by the self-employed parents/guardians
• A receipt in acknowledgement of the scholarship in the previous year (if applicable)

How To Apply

• Visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal.
• The home page of the website will open on the screen.
• Now from the homepage, click on the New Registration option if you are not already registered on the portal.
• A new page will open with the detailed important instructions to apply for the scholarship program.
• Accept the terms and conditions and more forward.
• The registration form will open on the screen.
• Enter all details as prescribed.
• Upload the relevant documents and click on the register option.
• Now a login ID and password will be provided.
• Using that login ID and password, login on the portal.
• Select the scholarship scheme of your choice.
• Enter the scholarship application form details.
• Submit the application form.
