Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Sitaram Jindal Scholarship Scheme 2025, applicants must:
Be Indian nationals studying in India at recognized government, government-aided, or private institutions (where exorbitant fees are not charged).
Be enrolled in one of the following levels/courses:
Category A: Class 11 or 12 in government or government-aided colleges.
Category B: ITI courses (government or private institutes).
Category C: Undergraduate courses (e.g., BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA, BHM, B.Sc.).
Category D: Diploma courses in technical fields (e.g., engineering, medical, architecture).
Category E: Postgraduate courses (e.g., MA, M.Com, M.Sc., MCA, MBA, MPhil).
Category F: Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) or medical (MBBS) courses.
Meet minimum academic performance requirements in the previous qualifying examination:
Class 11/12 (Category A): Boys ≥ 65%, Girls ≥ 60%; Karnataka/West Bengal: Boys ≥ 75%, Girls ≥ 70%.
ITI (Category B): Boys ≥ 50%, Girls ≥ 45%.
Undergraduate (Category C): Boys ≥ 65%, Girls ≥ 60%; Karnataka/West Bengal: Boys ≥ 70%, Girls ≥ 65%.
Diploma (Category D): Boys ≥ 60%, Girls ≥ 55%.
Engineering/Medical (Category F): Boys ≥ 70%, Girls ≥ 65%; Karnataka/West Bengal: Boys ≥ 75%, Girls ≥ 70%.
Postgraduate (Category E): Boys ≥ 65%, Girls ≥ 60%; Karnataka/West Bengal: Boys ≥ 75%, Girls ≥ 70%.
Physically Challenged/Handicapped Students: Passing marks in all categories.
Widows/Ex-Servicemen: Passing marks in all categories.
Have an annual family income not exceeding:
INR 2.5 lakh for non-employed students (parents’/guardians’ income).
INR 4.0 lakh for employed students (combined personal and family income).
Be under 30 years of age at the time of application.
Not be receiving any other scholarship for the same course, except for toppers’ awards or incentives for academic excellence.
Exclusions:
Students in correspondence, distance learning, or part-time courses are ineligible.
Students who have applied for this scholarship for the same course previously are ineligible.
Applications using non-official forms or from institutions charging exorbitant fees are not considered.
Benefit
The scholarship provides financial assistance based on the student’s category and course, disbursed monthly via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to an Aadhaar-seeded bank account:
Category A (Class 11/12):
Boys: INR 500/month.
Girls: INR 700/month.
Category B (ITI):
Government ITI: INR 500/month.
Private ITI: INR 700/month.
Category C (Undergraduate):
General: INR 1,000/month (boys), INR 1,200/month (girls).
Physically Challenged/Widows/Ex-Servicemen: INR 1,500/month.
Category D (Diploma):
General: INR 1,200/month (boys), INR 1,400/month (girls).
Physically Challenged/Widows/Ex-Servicemen: INR 1,700/month.
Category E (Postgraduate):
General: INR 1,800/month (boys), INR 2,000/month (girls).
Physically Challenged/Widows/Ex-Servicemen: INR 2,200/month.
Category F (Engineering/Medical):
General: INR 2,500/month (boys), INR 3,000/month (girls).
Postgraduate Engineering/Medical: INR 2,800/month (boys), INR 3,200/month (girls).
Hostel Allowance (Additional):
Class 11/12, ITI, Diploma: INR 1,000/month.
Undergraduate/Postgraduate: INR 1,200/month.
Duration: For the entire course duration, renewable annually upon maintaining academic performance (minimum marks relaxed by 5% for continuation) and meeting eligibility criteria.
Note: The scholarship is discontinued if the student crosses 30 years of age, fails to submit required documents, or violates the foundation’s terms. Funds cover educational expenses but not personal costs beyond the stipulated allowances.
